Nordisk Morris Minor Lager A/S

Summer Rally 2006

The summer rally in Norway is always exciting for me as I am not used to the mountains. Three cars from England joined and they had a great time although it was a little frightening driving in the mountains at first. Later we got used to it and learned how to enjoy the special roads in the mountains.

Nordisk Morris Minor Klubb is arranging a summer rally every year. This year in Norway. Next year the rally will be in Denmark and then next time in Sweden. This summer rally was my 25th.

Two routes was planned by the Norwegians, an easy route and a route over the mountains which I joined in my 4-door saloon. The distance from Oslo over the mountains to the rally site in Geiranger was around 500 km. We were 15 cars in convoy including the three English cars.

We had only the usual small problems with the cars and though it was hard driving for the cars and the drivers, we had a good time enjoying the hair pin bends and the landscape. After one day in the mountains my brake lining was really bedded in and it felt like a servo had been fitted. One car had a noisy gearbox when going up. Half a litre of oil cured the problem.
